Covid-19 pandemic starts spreading all over the world, at the same time the movement control order has been announced….sadly the negative news such as staff retrenchment, pay cut, business close down is coming one by one non-stop.

If you are an entrepreneur or business owner, I bet you are now worried about the current market and company situation. Sales are down, cash flow is tight, bank loan interest, rental is waiting for you to settle. During movement control, you cannot do much, but you must plan ahead when business resumes back. The most you can do is to have an open discussion with the employee about the company situation and get them together to overcome the challenge and work out a contingency plan to deal with the current situation

As for the employee, it is time to show your loyalty and understanding if the company reacts to some new policy due to the current situation. Yes, it hard to accept to force taking unpaid leave, until a certain extended pay cut, 10, 30, 50%, etc. Worst, the company start retrenchment. Taking initial to talk to your boss or superior to understand the current business conditions and contributing new ideas to improve current business and productivity. In reality, you may jobless if the company is not surviving.
